Columbus Metropolitan Library Thanks Altrusa for 12 Years of Support

In August, the Columbus Metropolitan Library thanked Altrusa of Columbus for donations the club has given to the library's Homework Help Centers over the past 12 years. Altrusa has supported the centers since the first location was opened in the Linden Library in 2004. In the years since, club members have not only volunteered at the centers, but also given more than $30,000 in monetary donations!

Representing Altrusa of Columbus at a ceremony recognizing the club were Treasurer Claudia Speakman, left, and President Jill DeVore, center, and Altrusa Foundation President Pat Fitzpatrick, second left.

For more information on the library's Homework Help Centers, call 645-2275 or visit columbuslibrary.org/hhc.

A Big Thank You from Easter Seals Too

Altrusa of Columbus was also thanked by Easter Seals for contributions it received through the club's award-winning books and school supplies project.

Cheers Ohio! a Success

Our thanks go out to the sponsors, donors, guests, and club members that supported the successful Cheers Ohio fundraising event. The event raised over $7500 to support the Altrusa Club of Columbus, Ohio Foundation’s literacy and service projects, and scholarships that are given locally and internationally.

A fantastic time was enjoyed by all who attended our May 21st fundraiser. Attendees enjoyed the thrill of bidding on silent auction items, the anticipation of winning a raffle and a great time answering Ohio trivia questions.

Congratulations to our generous community on the impact it will make in the lives of our grant recipients proving that together we do make a difference!
